Weekend Finds

We had a busy weekend with 6 estates sales filled with awesome stuff like vintage 1950s hats, stockings in their original packaging and some old photography books. I also found some unopened White brand sewing notions fit for a seamstress.  I scored three crystal champagne glasses with etched starbursts that I cannot wait to use. Maybe some bubbly for Valentine’s Day tomorrow?
One of my favorite finds this weekend is a black handbag with a rose body similar to a carpet bag. The top has a magnetic closure with the inside having a place for a pair of sunglasses, lipstick and spare change. It reminds me of old handbags my great grandmother used to have when I was a little girl.

We stayed local this weekend and headed to the Anaheim Art Crawl Experience on Saturday. Since Jeremy had yet to see the Steampunk exhibit at Muzeo we started there with some cake for Jules Verne’s birthday celebration. We headed over to check out all of the craft vendors and found some great craft artists. One of the vendors was Ferruzca Studios who paints on recycled paper and wallpaper with acrylics and creates very beautiful artwork. We couldn’t leave without taking something back with us! I choose Rocket Girl for myself and a Steampunk Fairy for my sister which she loved.

Our last stop was at the Anaheim Brewery for a craft brew. Jeremy tried the Porter while I had their Red, one of my favorites. The tasting room was filled with patrons and Jeremy joked that it’s too bad they make good beer and are getting so busy. It had been nice to go there before when there was plenty of seating at the bar. On our way out we spoke with Greg, one of the brew masters who let us know that their outdoor patio should be done by the end of the month. Clearly once it warms up, if you can’t find us at home, we’ll be enjoying some craft brew with the pups.
